Thanks to the government’s new tax rules that kicked in yesterday on September 22, 2025, the starting price for the entry-level Apache RTR 160 2V has dropped to an unbeatable Rs 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom). The change comes from a lower tax rate on smaller bikes under 350cc, down from 28% to just 18%. TVS is passing the full savings straight to customers, with cuts of up to Rs 10,000 on the Apache RTR 160 and similar drops across the lineup.
The RTR 160 4V, for example, now starts around Rs 1.36 lakh, while the punchier RTR 200 4V is at about Rs 1.48 lakh. Even the higher-end RTR 310 has seen a trim of nearly Rs 19,000, bringing it down to Rs 2.21 lakh, and the flagship RR 310 kicks off at Rs 2.56 lakh after a Rs 21,000-plus shave.
These bikes have always been crowd favorites for their zippy engines, sharp handling, and cool looks that stand out on city roads. The RTR 160, in particular, packs a peppy 159.7cc motor that delivers smooth power for daily commutes or weekend spins.
With options like single-channel ABS for safety, a digital display for easy info, and fresh colors including special anniversary editions to mark 20 years of Apache awesomeness, there’s something for every thrill-seeker.
