Maruti Suzuki India has shared its sales numbers for September 2025, showing a small but steady rise. The company sold a total of 190,000 units last month, up 3% from 184,000 units in September 2024. This includes sales in India, to other car makers, and exports. While home sales dipped a bit due to a slowdown in small cars, strong shipments overseas helped push the overall figure higher. The best part? Exports hit a record 35,000 units for any single month, beating all past highs and showing Maruti’s growing reach around the world.
Domestic sales came in at 150,000 units, down 2% from last year as buyers held back on entry-level models like the Alto and S-Press. But utility vehicles like the Brezza and Ertiga kept things steady, with sales up 5% in that group. Sales to other companies, such as Toyota for shared models, added 9,000 units.
The export jump of 26% from last September was the real star, sending cars to places like South Africa, Chile, and even Japan—where Suzuki’s home market is warming up to Indian-made vehicles.
For the first half of the year (April to September 2025), Maruti sold 1.1 million units overall, a 2% gain from 2024. Exports in this period reached 200,000 units, up 30%, thanks to new factories and deals in Africa and Latin America. The company credits its mix of petrol, CNG, and hybrid options for keeping costs low and appeal high, even as fuel prices fluctuate.
Partho Banerjee, Maruti’s top sales officer, said: “We’re glad to see this growth despite tough spots in the market. Our focus on exports is paying off big, and we’re set to keep building on it with more global ties.” With the festive season starting, Maruti expects a pickup in home sales too, driven by deals on popular models.
This keeps Maruti as India’s top car seller, holding about 42% of the market. If you’re shopping for a reliable ride, their strong export success means even better quality checks back home. Check out a Maruti showroom for the latest offers—Diwali could bring even more good news!
