Skoda Auto India Doubles Sales in September 2025: 101% Jump from Last Year

Skoda Auto India has posted impressive numbers for September 2025, with total sales reaching 6,200 units—a whopping 101% increase from the 3,085 units sold in September 2024. This strong growth shows the company’s SUVs and sedans are winning over more buyers, especially during the busy festive season. The success comes on the back of popular models like the Kushaq and Slavia, plus the buzz around upcoming launches like the Octavia RS.

In India, the Kushaq SUV led the pack with 2,800 units sold, up 120% from last year, thanks to its tough build and modern features. The Slavia sedan followed with 1,900 units, a 95% rise, appealing to those who want a smooth, stylish drive.

The Kodiaq, the bigger SUV, added 300 units, while the new Kylaq sub-compact SUV chipped in 1,200 units—its first full month after deliveries started in August. These figures cover both petrol and diesel options, with many buyers picking automatic versions for easier city rides.

The growth isn’t just in numbers—Skoda’s share of the mid-size car market climbed to 8.5%, up from 4.2% last year. Exports from India also helped, with 500 units shipped to markets like the Middle East and Africa.

Recent price cuts from new tax rules made models cheaper by up to Rs 50,000, drawing in first-time buyers. Plus, Skoda’s focus on safety, like five-star crash ratings, has built trust.

For the first half of 2025 (April to September), Skoda sold 35,000 units overall, a 75% jump from 2024. This puts the company on track for its best year yet, with plans to hit 100,000 units by March 2026.

Petr Janeba, Brand Director for Skoda Auto India, said: “This 101% growth reflects our commitment to quality cars that fit Indian needs. The Kushaq and Slavia are stars, and with the Octavia RS coming soon, we’re excited for more wins.” He added that Skoda is ramping up production at its Chakan plant to meet demand.
