JSW MG Motor India has climbed to the number two position in India’s luxury electric vehicle market. This success comes from strong sales of two standout models: the MG Cyberster sports car and the MG M9 Presidential Limousine. According to government vehicle registration data for September 2025, the company now trails only BMW in this high-end segment. The news highlights the growing demand for premium electric cars in the country, where buyers want style, speed, and green tech.
The MG Cyberster, a sleek two-seater roadster, has become India’s top-selling sports car just two months after its July 2025 launch. It sold 256 units through MG’s luxury stores, creating a wait of 3-4 months for new buyers. Powered by two electric motors that send power to all four wheels, it makes 510 horsepower and strong pull, reaching 100 km/h from a stop in 3.2 seconds.
Features like scissor doors, a soft-top roof, big 20-inch wheels with grippy tires, and strong brakes make it fun and safe. Prices start around Rs 65 lakh, filling a gap in the Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore range.
The MG M9, a long luxury limousine, draws interest from business leaders and government users. It offers top comfort with a spacious cabin, quiet electric ride, and high-end finishes. Like the Cyberster, it has a 3-4 month waitlist, showing its appeal for special trips.
To support these models, JSW MG opened 14 special experience centers in big cities. These spots let customers see and test the cars up close, with personal help from staff. Milind Shah, head of MG’s luxury sales, said: “Reaching second place shows how much people like our cars. The Cyberster is for speed lovers, and the M9 is for those who want comfort.”
In September 2025, JSW MG sold 6,728 cars overall, up 34% from last year. This includes both electric and regular models, boosted by lower taxes and festive buying. The company aims to take the top spot in luxury electric cars by 2026, with more new models planned.
