Yamaha Motor India has launched the XSR 155, a cool retro-style bike that mixes old looks with modern power. This is the first XSR model for the Indian market. The bike is built for fun rides in the city or on open roads, with a classic shape that’s easy to handle. It starts at Rs 1.49,990 (ex-showroom Delhi), a special price to get more buyers. You can add two accessory packs for extra style. Bookings are open now at Yamaha dealers, and deliveries start soon.
Look and Design
The XSR 155 has a simple, old-school style that feels fresh. It has a round LED headlight up front, a slim fuel tank with knee pads for comfort, and a short tail for a light feel. The seat fits one or two riders, and the handlebars are flat for easy control.
It weighs 134 kg, so it’s not heavy. You can pick from four colors: Ivory White with red, Gunmetal Grey with black, Dark Blue with silver, and Racing Blue with white. The accessory packs add things like a leather seat or bar-end mirrors.
Engine and Ride
The bike runs on a 155 cc liquid-cooled engine, the same as in the R15 but tuned for smooth power. It makes 18.4 horsepower and 14.7 Nm of pull, good for quick starts in traffic. A five-speed gearbox makes changing gears easy. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in about 12 seconds and tops 130 km/h. Fuel use is around 45 km per litre, with a 10-litre tank for daily rides.
For handling, it has telescopic forks in front and a twin shock in back to smooth bumps. Brakes are disc front and drum back for safe stops.
Features and Safety
The XSR 155 has a digital screen for speed, fuel, and trip info. It connects to your phone with Bluetooth for music and calls. Other nice bits include LED lights all around and a side-stand engine cut-off for safety. It has single-channel ABS on the front brake to stop without skidding.
Yamaha India’s head said: “The XSR 155 brings retro fun to young riders, with power and style that’s easy to love.” It competes with bikes like the Royal Enfield Classic 350 or Honda CB350, but with a sportier feel.
If you want a bike that looks classic but rides modern, the XSR 155 is a good choice. Visit a Yamaha dealer to see it—the special price makes it a steal!
