Hyundai has dropped a mysterious teaser for what it calls its “biggest EV yet,” likely the Electric Staria MPV, which is set to make its world premiere at the Brussels Motor Show on January 9, 2026. The single image shows a full-width LED light bar, and many believe this is the electric version of the Staria minivan – a spacious people mover that’s even larger than the current flagship Ioniq 9 SUV.
The teaser comes with promises of “state-of-the-art electric technology,” including an advanced 800-volt charging system for quick top-ups. Hyundai describes it as a new model that “supplements the brand’s existing lineup from Inster to IONIQ 9,” hinting at something different from another crossover. The Staria, at over 5.25 meters long, fits the “biggest” label perfectly – it’s a van-style vehicle with room for up to 11 passengers in some setups.

This electric Staria has been rumoured for months, with spy shots showing prototypes. It could share the refreshed design of the gas-powered Staria launched recently in South Korea, but with EV touches like a closed grille and front charging port. Expect a large battery (possibly around 99 kWh) for good range, fast charging, and practical features for families or fleets.
The reveal kicks off Hyundai’s 2026 EV push in Europe, where demand for bigger zero-emission vehicles is growing. Markets like Australia, Thailand, and parts of Asia might get it too, though no word on North America yet.

Fans are excited – the light bar matches Staria spy photos, and an electric van could rival upcoming models like the Volkswagen ID.Buzz. Kia is showing its smallest EV at the same event, balancing the lineup.
Keep an eye on Hyundai’s channels for more teasers. If it’s the Staria Electric, this could be a game-changer for big, practical EVs. The Brussels show runs January 9-18 – mark your calendar!
