Renault Kwid Turns 10: Special Anniversary Edition Hits Roads at Rs 5.14 Lakh

Renault India just marked a big milestone with the Kwid, its popular small car that first rolled out in 2015. To celebrate 10 years of bringing affordable fun to Indian roads, the company has launched a limited 10th Anniversary Edition. This special version is based on the Techno trim and comes with fresh looks and touches that make it stand out. Only 500 units will be made, so it’s a rare find for fans.

The Anniversary Edition starts at Rs 5.14 lakh for the manual version and goes up to Rs 5.63 lakh for the automatic one, all ex-showroom prices across India. It comes in two eye-catching two-tone colors: Fiery Red with a Black roof and a brand-new Shadow Grey with Black roof. To add more style, it has shiny black flex wheels that look sharp, plus special decals on the doors and side pillars that scream “anniversary.” There’s even a yellow accent on the front grille for that extra pop.

Step inside, and the cabin feels lively with yellow highlights on the seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with mustard-colored stitching, and lighted step plates on the doors. The seats have a themed design just for this edition, giving it a sporty vibe without extra cost.

But the good news isn’t just for this special model. Renault has spruced up the whole Kwid lineup to make it safer and easier to pick from. Now, every seat in all versions has a three-point seatbelt for better protection. The top Climber trim goes further with six airbags as standard. The company also renamed the trims for clarity: Evolution (what used to be RXL), Techno (formerly RXT), and Climber. The base Kwid now starts at just Rs 4.29 lakh, making it one of the cheapest new cars around. If you want an automatic, the entry price is Rs 4.99 lakh.

Venkatram Mamillapalle, the head of Renault India, shared his excitement: “The Kwid has played a huge role in our story here in India. It changed what people expect from budget cars with smart ideas, easy access, and over 95% parts made locally. This Anniversary Edition is our way of thanking customers for a decade of trust and promising more great rides ahead.”

Since its launch, the Kwid has sold over 4.5 lakh units, proving it’s a hit for city drivers who want SUV-like style on a tight budget. It goes up against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and S-Presso, but stands out with its raised stance and fun drive.

With the festive season kicking off, this timing couldn’t be better. If you’re in the market for a zippy, value-packed small car, the Kwid’s anniversary bash might just be the push you need to head to a showroom. Renault says these special editions will fly off the lots, so don’t wait too long!
