Booking Alert: BMW Motorrad Opens Unofficial Registrations Ahead of Launch

Luxury bike maker BMW Motorrad has begun accepting unofficial booking registrations for its upcoming mid-sized adventure motorcycle, the BMW F 450 GS. While the model has not been officially launched yet, interested buyers in India are being invited to register interest or place a token as the bike nears its market debut.

The F 450 GS is one of BMW’s most anticipated models in recent years. It was first shown as a concept at the 2024 EICMA Motorcycle Show and has since been spotted testing several times, including on Indian roads. The motorcycle will sit between the smaller G 310 GS and the larger F 850 GS in BMW’s global adventure lineup, offering riders a new balance of power, capability, and price.

Design-wise, the F 450 GS carries the familiar GS adventure styling with a tall stance, high front beak, and upright riding position. Spy photos suggest that it will get LED lighting, a large digital display, and rugged dual-purpose tires suitable for both city and off-road use. The test models also hint at long-travel suspension and spoked wheels, reinforcing its off-road potential.

Under the bodywork, the motorcycle is expected to feature a new 450cc single-cylinder engine, producing around 47 to 48 horsepower. This places it in direct competition with other mid-weight adventure bikes such as the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, and Hero Xpulse 400 (when launched). The bike will likely come with a 6-speed gearbox, switchable ABS, and optional riding modes.

As for pricing, sources suggest that the BMW F 450 GS could start at around ₹4.0–₹4.5 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable GS models yet. This move could help BMW attract a wider audience of young riders looking for a premium adventure motorcycle without the high cost of larger GS models.

Although the company hasn’t officially confirmed the launch date, industry reports point toward a late 2025 or early 2026 release. The fact that dealerships are now accepting unofficial bookings indicates that the official announcement is not far away.

The arrival of the BMW F 450 GS marks an important step for BMW Motorrad in India. It signals the brand’s commitment to expanding its adventure lineup and competing strongly in the fast-growing mid-capacity motorcycle segment. With its signature GS styling, strong performance, and competitive pricing, the new model could become one of the most popular adventure bikes in its class.
