Citroen Aircross X Hits Indian Roads: New Version Starts at Rs 9.77 Lakh

Citroen India has launched a fresh take on its popular compact SUV, the Aircross X. This updated model adds more comfort and smart features to make family drives easier and fun. It joins the X series after the C3 X and Basalt X, focusing on space and safety for Indian buyers. The Aircross X starts at Rs 9.77 lakh (ex-showroom) for the mid-spec Plus version, while the base Aircross You trim is Rs 8.29 lakh. Prices go up to Rs 13.49 lakh for the top Max automatic. Bookings are open now at Citroen showrooms or online, with deliveries starting soon.

The Aircross X comes in three main trims: Plus 5-seater, Plus 7-seater, and Max 7-seater. It keeps the boxy, tough look of the regular Aircross but adds a new Deep Forest Green color for a fresh vibe. You can pick from 10 outside colors, including single or two-tone options, and three inside themes.

The cabin feels roomier with a long wheelbase that gives plenty of leg space, especially in the back. The boot holds 511 liters, perfect for trips, and seats fold flat for even more cargo room. Choose five or seven seats to fit your family.

Under the hood, the Plus and Max trims get a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 109 horsepower and strong pull for smooth city or highway runs. It pairs with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic for easy shifts.

The base You variant uses a simpler 1.2-litre petrol engine with 82 horsepower and a 5-speed manual. A CNG option is available as an add-on for lower fuel costs. All versions handle well on rough roads with good ground clearance and soft seats that soak up bumps.

Safety is a big plus, with a recent 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP tests. Every Aircross X has six airbags, child seat anchors, stability control to stay steady, tire pressure alerts, and hill-start help. Higher trims add a full 360-degree camera with a bird’s-eye view, rear parking sensors, and brakes that grip well.

Inside, the upgrades shine. You get a 10.25-inch touchscreen for maps, music, and calls, plus wireless phone charging. Ventilated front seats keep you cool in hot weather, and ambient lights set a nice mood. Keyless entry lets you walk up and start with a button, while cruise control holds your speed on long drives.

A speed limiter helps avoid tickets, and LED fog lights brighten dark paths. The top Max trim has CARA, a smart voice helper that chats in 52 languages to control air, lights, or navigation—just say what you need.

Kumar Priyesh, head of Citroen’s car business in India, said: “The Aircross X is built for real family needs—big space, comfy rides, top safety, and easy tech. With CARA, driving feels more personal and simple.” It lines up against rivals like the Hyundai Venue or Kia Sonet but stands out with seven-seat options and that strong safety score.

If you want a practical SUV that’s safe and loaded with extras, the Aircross X could be a smart buy. Head to a Citroen dealer for a test drive—the festive season might bring even better deals!
