Scuderia Ferrari has officially unveiled the name of its 2026 Formula 1 challenger: the Ferrari SF-26. The announcement came via a short teaser video posted on the team’s social media channels late last night, building anticipation for the car’s full reveal on January 23 at the team’s historic headquarters in Maranello.
The SF-26 name follows Ferrari’s long-standing tradition of using “SF” (Scuderia Ferrari) followed by the year of competition. The car will be the first Ferrari Formula 1 machine built entirely under the new 2026 power unit and chassis regulations, which introduce lighter cars, active aerodynamics, sustainable fuels, and a near-50/50 split between electric and combustion power.
In the brief teaser clip, the front wing and nose of the SF-26 are shown in dim light with the familiar red livery and subtle gold accents, hinting at a possible tribute to Ferrari’s 70th anniversary of winning its first Constructors’ Championship in 1956. The video ends with the text “SF-26 – Ready to Write History” and the date January 23, 2026.
The car will be driven by the unchanged driver line-up of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, with the seven-time world champion entering his first season in red. Team principal Fred Vasseur has repeatedly described 2026 as “a reset year” for the sport, with Ferrari investing heavily in the new power unit developed at its in-house engine department.
The January 23 launch event will be streamed live on Ferrari’s official channels and is expected to include the first full reveal of the car, technical insights from the team, and appearances by both drivers. It will be the first of several team launches leading up to pre-season testing in Bahrain in late February.
