Skoda Octavia RS Returns to India: Launch on October 17 with Bookings from October 6

Skoda Auto India is bringing back a fan favorite—the Octavia RS—after years away from the market. This sporty sedan, the fourth-generation model, will officially launch on October 17, 2025. It’s a limited-run offering with just 100 units coming to the country, imported fully built from abroad. This makes it a special treat for buyers who want high performance and style in one package.

Bookings kick off a bit earlier, on October 6, right through Skoda’s official website. You’ll need to head online to reserve one, and deliveries should start from November 6. Prices haven’t been set yet, but expect it to land around Rs 50-51 lakh, ex-showroom. That’s in line with its premium spot, competing with cars like the BMW 3 Series or Audi A4.

The Octavia RS stands out with its bold looks. It has a wider front grille, sharp LED lights, and sporty bumpers that give it a low, aggressive stance. The body gets black accents, 19-inch wheels, and red brake calipers for that racing feel. At the back, twin exhaust pipes and a spoiler add extra flair. It’s built on Skoda’s tough MQB platform, with a wheelbase of 2,686 mm for stable handling on twists and turns.

Under the hood, a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine pumps out 265 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. Paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox, it hits 100 km/h from a stop in just 6.4 seconds and tops out at 250 km/h. Power goes to the front wheels, with a limited-slip differential to help grip on corners. It misses some fancy adjustable suspension from other markets, but still promises a fun, planted ride.

Inside, things feel upscale and driver-focused. You get sport bucket seats with red stitching, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and alloy pedals. A 13-inch touchscreen handles maps, music, and phone calls, while a 10-inch digital dash shows speed and trip info. Other perks include dual-zone air conditioning, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, and a 11-speaker sound system. The boot holds 600 litres of cargo, expanding to 1,555 litres with seats folded.

Ashish Gupta, Skoda’s brand director in India, said: “The Octavia RS marks our 130th global anniversary and 25 years in India. It’s a halo model that blends everyday comfort with thrilling performance.” First launched here in 2004 as India’s pioneer turbo petrol car, it built a loyal following among speed lovers.
