Suzuki Motorcycle India has raised the price of its famous superbike, the Hayabusa, following recent changes in government taxes. The Suzuki Hayabusa price now starts at Rs 18.06 lakh (ex-showroom), up from Rs 16.90 lakh before. This Rs 1.16 lakh increase took effect right after the new tax rules started on September 22, 2025. The move comes as bigger bikes over 350cc now face a higher tax rate of 40%, seen as luxury items, while smaller ones get a cut to 18%.
Not just the Hayabusa—other Suzuki models are hit too. The adventure-ready V-Strom 800 DE now costs more by Rs 70,763, bringing it to a new price tag. The sporty GSX-8R has gone up by Rs 60,000 to Rs 9.88 lakh. These hikes are straight from the tax jump, with no changes to the bikes themselves.
To ease the sting during the festive season, Suzuki is rolling out big discounts. Buyers can save up to Rs 1.16 lakh on the Hayabusa, matching the tax hike, plus extra offers on the V-Strom 800 DE and GSX-8R. This makes it a good time to grab one if you’ve been eyeing these powerful rides. The deals are part of Suzuki’s push to keep sales strong amid the price shifts.
The Hayabusa has been a fan favorite since 1999, known for its speed and smooth ride. It packs a 1,340 cc engine that delivers 187 horsepower and can hit top speeds over 300 km/h. With features like quick gear shifts, slip control, and strong brakes, it’s built for thrill-seekers. Last year, it sold over 500 units in India, showing its lasting appeal.
A spokesperson from Suzuki Motorcycle India said: “We understand the impact of these tax changes, so we’re offering these festive savings to make our bikes more reachable. It’s our way to thank loyal riders.” The company also noted that smaller scooters and bikes in their lineup, like the Access 125, have seen price drops thanks to the lower tax on models under 350cc.
These tax reforms, called GST 2.0, aim to make everyday transport cheaper while charging more for high-end items. For Suzuki fans, the discounts could soften the blow, but prices might stay high once the offers end. If speed and style are your thing, check out a Suzuki dealer soon—these deals won’t last forever!
