Tata Motors has launched the updated Punch EV facelift in India, with a starting price of Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the first major update to the compact electric SUV since its debut.
The facelift brings design updates, new battery options, and improved pricing, making it more affordable than before. Bookings are now open, and deliveries are expected to begin soon.
Price Drop and Variant Details
The updated Punch EV is now priced between Rs 9.69 lakh and Rs 12.59 lakh, making it cheaper than the previous model.
- Base variant is now Rs 30,000 more affordable
- Top variant is up to Rs 1.85 lakh cheaper
The EV is available in six variants across two battery options (30kWh and 40kWh).
Tata has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option. Under this plan:
- Starting price drops to Rs 6.49 lakh
- Battery usage is charged at Rs 2.6 per km
Battery, Performance, and Range
The Punch EV facelift now comes with new 30kWh and 40kWh battery packs, replacing the older units.
- 40kWh battery: up to 468km (ARAI) range
- 30kWh battery: up to 365km range
The larger battery delivers 129hp and 154Nm, while the smaller one produces 88hp and 154Nm.
Tata claims:
- 0–100 km/h in under 9 seconds (40kWh variant)
- Fast charging from 20% to 80% in 26 minutes
- 135km range added in just 15 minutes
The SUV also offers three drive modes (Eco, City, Sport) and multiple regenerative braking levels.
Exterior Updates
The facelift brings subtle design changes while keeping its EV identity intact.

- Redesigned front bumper with closed grille
- New connected LED tail-lamps
- 16-inch alloy wheels
- New colour options with dual-tone finish
The Punch EV retains 195mm ground clearance and 450mm water-wading capability, making it practical for Indian roads.
