Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Edition Teased: Sleek Black Look Coming Soon

Toyota India has shared the first look at its upcoming Aero Edition for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV. The teaser image, posted on social media, shows a sharp all-black version of the popular compact SUV. This special edition is set to launch during Toyota’s Drum Tao music festival in November 2025, just in time for the festive season. It aims to give buyers a stylish twist on the standard Hyryder without changing the core features.

The Aero Edition stands out with its full black paint job, much like the black-themed Hilux pickup. It adds a fake carbon fiber look on the front grille for a sporty touch, along with “Aero Edition” badges on the back. Other details might include black alloy wheels and dark accents on the bumpers and mirrors. Inside, expect black seats and trim to match the outside theme, keeping the cabin fresh and easy to clean. The overall shape stays the same—boxy with good ground clearance for city roads and light off-road trips.

Under the hood, nothing new here. The Hyryder keeps its three engine choices: a basic 1.5-litre petrol that makes 91 horsepower and 141 Nm of pulling power, a strong hybrid setup that mixes petrol and electric for better fuel savings, and a CNG version for lower running costs. The all-wheel drive option now gets a smoother 6-speed automatic gearbox instead of the old 5-speed manual. This should make drives easier on slippery or rough paths.

Prices for the regular Hyryder just got better with recent tax changes, starting at Rs 10.95 lakh and going up to Rs 19.76 lakh (ex-showroom). The Aero Edition might add a small premium for the extra style, but Toyota hasn’t shared exact numbers yet. It will compete with black editions from rivals like the Hyundai Creta N Line or Kia Seltos X-Line.

Toyota’s head of marketing, V Wiseline Sigamani, said in the teaser post: “Get ready for a bold new look that turns heads.” This edition builds on the Hyryder’s strong sales—over 8,800 units in August 2025 alone—and recent updates like more tech inside.

If you like SUVs with a cool, dark vibe, keep an eye on Toyota’s channels for the full reveal. The festive buzz could make this a hot seller for families wanting something fun and practical. Head to a showroom soon to check the current models!
