Triumph Motorcycles has launched its new Trident 800 bike in places like the UK and US. This middle-sized street bike gets a bigger engine and more features than the older Trident 660. It mixes fun power with easy handling for city rides or weekend trips. The bike starts at £9,195 in the UK (about Rs 9.50 lakh) and $9,995 in the US (about Rs 8.4 lakh). It will hit showrooms there by March or April 2026. For India, it’s expected in mid-2026 at around Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom), sitting between the Trident 660 and Street Triple 765.
Look and Design
The Trident 800 keeps the simple, sharp style of the Trident 660 but feels bigger and stronger. It has a round LED headlight, a wide fuel tank with knee pads, and a short tail for a light look.
The seat steps up for two riders, and the handlebars sit flat for comfy control. It weighs 198 kg when full, so it’s easy to move. New colors include Carnival Red with Graphite, Ash Gray with Diablo Red, and Jet Black. You can add extras like bar-end mirrors or a better exhaust for more style.
Power and Ride
The bike runs on a new 798 cc three-cylinder engine that’s liquid-cooled. It makes 113-115 horsepower and 84-85 Nm of pulling power, giving smooth starts and strong mid-speed push. A six-speed gearbox with a quick shifter lets you change gears up or down without the clutch. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.5 seconds and tops 200 km/h. Fuel use is around 20 km per litre, with a 17-litre tank for long rides.
For handling, it has 41 mm upside-down forks in front and a back shock you can adjust. Brakes are strong discs front and back with a system that works in turns for safe stops. The frame is steel trellis for steady feel on roads.
Tech and Safety
A 3.5-inch color screen shows speed, fuel, and trip info. It connects to your phone with Bluetooth for music, calls, and maps. There are three ride modes: Road for normal days, Sport for fun, and Rain for wet weather. Other helps include traction control that adjusts in leans, cruise control for steady speeds, and ABS for brakes. The quick shifter and wheelie control come standard.
Triumph’s bike boss said: “The Trident 800 fills the gap between our small and big street bikes, with power that’s fun but easy to use.” It’s up against bikes like the Yamaha MT-09 or Kawasaki Z900, but with Triumph’s three-cylinder sound.
If you want a bike that’s quick but comfy for daily rides, the Trident 800 looks great. Watch for India news—it’s set to arrive mid-2026!
