Yamaha Motor India has introduced its first electric scooter, the Aerox E, on November 12, 2025. This battery-powered ride brings the fun of the regular Aerox to green travel, with a claimed range of 106 km on a full charge. It’s built for city trips and short commutes, with easy handling and modern touches. The scooter will go on sale in 2026, with prices expected around Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It goes up against rivals like the TVS X and Ola S1 Pro. Yamaha also unveiled the EC-06, a smaller e-scooter for urban use, but the Aerox E is the star for style and space.
Design and Build
The Aerox E keeps the sporty shape of the petrol Aerox 155, with a slim body that’s easy to weave through traffic. It has a round LED headlight up front, a wide seat for two people, and a boot under the seat for helmets or bags. The frame is steel for strength, and it weighs 139 kg—light enough for quick moves. Colors include cool options like blue and grey, with chrome bits for a premium feel. It’s 1,890 mm long and has good ground clearance for small bumps.
Power and Range
The scooter runs on a 9.4 kW electric motor that gives 48 Nm of pulling power. This setup lets it start fast and reach 90 km/h top speed. You get three ride modes: Eco for saving battery, Street for normal rides, and Sport for quicker bursts. The 3 kWh battery pack (two small ones) charges in 4-5 hours from a home plug and takes you 106 km in tests. Real-world range might be 80-90 km, depending on traffic and load. There’s a boost button for extra speed when needed.
Features and Safety
Inside, a 7-inch touchscreen shows speed, battery level, and maps. It connects to your phone for calls and music. Other nice bits include keyless start, USB charging ports, and LED lights all around. Safety has disc brakes front and back with ABS to stop without skidding, plus traction control to handle slips. It has a side-stand sensor that turns off the power if tipped.
If you want a stylish electric scooter that’s quick and green, the Aerox E is worth waiting for. Check Yamaha dealers for updates—the 2026 launch is coming!
